EHC AR: Web-based Augmented Reality Product 3D Models for E-Commerce Website

Our studio partnered with The Electric Heating Company (EHC), one of the UK's leading suppliers of electric heating solutions, to develop a custom Web AR solution that enables customers to virtually explore EHC's range of heaters. The project aimed to create a virtual showroom featuring the DSR Solaris Heater, allowing customers to visualise the heater in their own homes without the need for a separate app or physical interaction. By developing a digital twin of the Solaris Heater with accurate scale and detail, we ensured a seamless and engaging customer experience that could be adapted to various marketing and sales initiatives.

Client & Industry Background

The Electric Heating Company is a prominent supplier of electric heating solutions in the UK. With a focus on providing efficient and eco-friendly products, EHC offers a wide range of electric heaters, boilers, and renewable energy solutions to customers. Their commitment to quality and innovation has made them a trusted name in the industry, continually striving to enhance customer experiences through the use of advanced technology.

Strategy & Approach

Collaboration and Planning: We worked closely with the Electric Heating Company to understand their requirements and expectations for the virtual showroom and Web AR solution. This collaboration ensured that our development strategy aligned with EHC's vision and goals.

Modelling and Design: Our modelling team received four variations in the size of the DSR Solaris Heater to create a digital representation of each in Web AR. We focused on creating a visually appealing and optimised digital twin of the Solaris Heater, ensuring true scale accuracy and detail.

Web AR Development: We developed a custom Web AR solution that allowed customers to virtually explore the range of EHC heaters without the need for a separate app. The Web AR feature was designed to be compatible with a wide range of browsers, ensuring easy access for customers.

Integration with Marketing and Sales Initiatives: The Web AR solution was designed to be adaptable for various marketing and sales initiatives across a broad range of customer circumstances throughout the UK. This flexibility allowed EHC to leverage the virtual showroom for multiple purposes.

Testing and Optimisation: We tested the Web AR solution's functionality and user experience, gathering feedback from EHC and making necessary adjustments to refine the virtual showroom experience further.

Launch and Support: Upon completion, we provided EHC with the custom Web AR solution for their virtual showroom and continued to offer ongoing support for seamless integration with their marketing and sales initiatives.

Results & achievements

The custom Web AR solution developed for EHC's virtual showroom allowed customers to explore the range of heaters without the need for a separate app or physical interaction. The digital twin of the DSR Solaris Heater, with its accurate scale and detail, provided an engaging and visually appealing experience for users. With wide browser compatibility and adaptability for various marketing and sales initiatives, the Web AR feature became a valuable tool for EHC during the showroom closure due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Our collaboration with EHC resulted in a seamless integration of the Web AR solution into their existing processes, enabling them to continue showcasing their products and driving sales. The successful completion of the project within the desired timeline and budget demonstrated our studio's ability to deliver efficient and innovative solutions, further strengthening our reputation as a trusted partner in the industry.
